Tax Manager- Personal Financial Services


Location : Atlanta, Georgia

Hudson RPO has an opportunity for a Tax Manager – Personal Financial Services, for    one of the largest CPA firms in the United States. The successful candidate will be working with Partners/ Managers to lead, mentor and coach team members in various areas of tax compliance and across consulting engagements. They are responsible for management of engagements and client communications while promoting a collaborative environment to bring value to clients.

  • Communicates with the IRS and other state authorities in a professional manner

Technical Skills
  • Exhibits a high-level understanding of technical requirements, procedures and principles
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of specialized industry and/or regulatory requirements
  • Helps to manage and monitor preparation and review of complex individual, estate, gift, trust and business tax returns, including projections and estimate calculations
  • Reviews and advises on technical research memorandum
  • Ability to apply relevant tax law to clients and circumstances
  • Identifies area of specialization and is continuously refining skills, knowledge and expertise
Leading People
  • Contributes and supports new ideas on internal processes and client engagements
  • Conducts training for associates
  • Manages projects by scheduling associates, tracking completion and managing the budget
Business Results
  • Gives feedback effectively to minimize repeated errors and apply new concepts
  • Maintains open communication with team regarding the progress of completion on projects
  • Participates actively in training and developmental opportunities, both as an attendee and as a facilitator
  • Manages all aspects of billing, including client inquiries
  • Develops appropriate fee quotes for new tax engagements
  • Must be in Public Accounting currently, or no longer than 2 years removed from Public Accounting
  • Accounting undergraduate degree required, Master’s preferred
  • CPA required
  • 5+ years of tax experience is required
  • Advanced knowledge of Federal and Georgia income tax laws and principles of individual and business taxation is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong project management and delegation skills
